Performance Group 266 Lake Inc. o/a MINI St. Catharines (“MINI St. Catharines”) is a member of Performance Auto Group. MINI St. Catharines and the other members of Performance Auto Group will be referred to collectively in this privacy policy as “PAG”, “we” or “us”.
We take your privacy seriously, and we’re committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Because we gather certain types of information from our guests (including visitors to our website), we have developed this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) to help you understand what we collect and how we use that information. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we gather, how it is used, and how you can review and correct any data that we’ve collected about you.
From time to time, we may update this Privacy Policy. You should review it periodically to ensure that you’re familiar with its contents, including any changes we may make from time to time. If you interact with MINI St. Catharines after we make changes, you are signifying that you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.
We, and service providers acting on our behalf, use and disclose Personal Information about you. When we use the term “Personal Information”, we mean any information about you other than your name, title, business address, business e-mail address, business telephone number and business fax number. Personal Information also does not include your home address and telephone number if this information is published in a telephone or other public directory.
We make every reasonable effort to avoid collecting excessive or irrelevant data about you. We take reasonable physical, electronic and managerial measures to safeguard and secure any information you provide to us or that we collect (e.g. data will be stored in protected databases on secured servers with restricted access). We work with our partners and service providers to ensure that they have strict privacy and data collection policies that protect you and your data.

We may collect Personal Information about you whenever you enter into any kind of transaction with or through us, including (among other things) when you:
Purchase or lease a vehicle or other products from or through us;
Bring us your car for service or repair;
Participate in one of our surveys, contests or promotions;
Test drive one of our vehicles; or
Contact a member of our team.
The Personal Information we collect may include (among other things):
Your name, address, telephone number, email address and occupation;
Information about your driving preferences and habits, including your preferred car size, colour, type of vehicle, kilometers driven each year, etc.;
Information about your existing vehicle(s) and any vehicles you intend to trade-in, including information about each vehicle and its service history;
Your Driver’s License information;
Information about your insurance coverage and insurer (including automobile and other kinds of insurance);
Your date of birth;
Your language preference;
Your social insurance number (note: you are not required to provide us with your social insurance number. However, our ability to obtain credit information about you may be adversely affected if you do not provide us with that information because many credit reporting services rely on it in preparing credit reports);
Financial and credit information about you, such as the terms of any loans extended to you (including principal, interest, repayment terms and security package);
Information about your health, if you are applying for life, health, accident or disability insurance; and
Similar information about members of your family, as relevant or necessary.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties, other than as described below, and never without your consent.
We use commercially reasonable efforts securely maintain your Personal Information. We take all commercially reasonable precautions to prevent the unintentional disclosure of your Personal Information, and we strict policies and protocols to limit which of our employees and service providers can access your Personal Information.
We use your Personal Information to provide you with products and services, including to (among other things) license your vehicle; obtain credit reports about you if you are financing or leasing your vehicle; obtain financing for your purchase of a vehicle; provide you with reminders about services; and provide you with updates and information about products and services that we offer and that we think will be of interest to you. We also use your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, including to notify you of recalls and other important news about your vehicle.
We work with certain third parties, including financing companies and web hosting companies, to provide services to you and our other guests. To obtain services from those third parties, we may need to share portions of your Personal Information. Our business partners include (but are not limited to): MINI Canada, a division of BMW Canada Inc.; MINI Financial Services Canada; and other members of PAG.
MINI St. Catharines may use other companies and individuals to perform certain functions on our behalf. Examples include administering e-mail services and running special promotions. Such parties only have access to the Personal Information needed to perform these functions and may not use or store the information for any other purpose.
In the event that MINI St. Catharines sells or transfers a particular portion of its business assets, consumer information may be one of the business assets transferred as part of the transaction. If substantially all of the assets of our dealership are acquired, consumer information may be transferred as part of the acquisition.
MINI St. Catharines may disclose specific Personal Information based on a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with or conform to the law or that such disclosure is necessary to protect MINI St. Catharines, our employees or other guests, or the public.
Other than as set forth in this Privacy Policy, you will be notified when any of your Personal Information is shared with third parties, and you will be given the opportunity to decline to share that information.
Generally, we keep your Personal Information for as long as we reasonably believe you own or lease a MINI vehicle, and for as long as may be necessary to allow us to comply with applicable laws.
You can opt out of some of the ways we collect, store and use your Personal Information. However, we cannot provide you with products and services unless we collect, store and use some Personal Information. Please contact our Chief Privacy Officer to discuss how we can limit the collection, storage and use of your Personal Information.
You have the right to review and correct the Personal Information we have about you. Please contact our Chief Privacy Officer if you would like to do so.
